Love. Justice and Holiness. How?

Rereading Yeshua's (Jesus') words, I'm starting to wonder if this world is going absurd.

He taught us to love radically by not giving into deceit, to love and pray for our enemies.

He said we must defend the defenseless, help the helpless, and free the oppressed. He lived these principles with conviction, causing religious and political unrest.

I wonder, if he were here now, what would he do seeing genocide so loud?

Would he shut down the mines in the Congo?

While freeing those in Gaza sending them aid and healing in metallic bins?

Would he go against his fellow Jewish brethren to stand against their sins, while praying for their eyes to open?

Would he set those in prison free physically and or mentally?

How do we balance these atrocities while trying to meet HIS standard of holy?

If you're similar to me, it seems you grapple with how to reconcile Jesus' call to be holy, while answering the call to love, defend, and liberate with the overwhelming injustices and conflicts we see today.

Yeshua's radical love and commitment to justice indeed challenged the status quo in his time and would likely do the same today. If Jesus were here now, he might indeed address the world's major injustices—perhaps shutting down exploitative mines, advocating for peace and justice in conflict zones like Gaza, and calling out sins within his own community and beyond.

Yeshua's approach would likely be one of profound empathy, relentless truth-telling, and unwavering commitment to nonviolence and love. Balancing these atrocities while trying to meet his standard of holiness is indeed challenging. Because sometimes I want to knock someone's head into the wall hoping the hit will provide an opening to their thinking.

It involves:

• Active Love: Engaging in acts of love and service, particularly towards those who are marginalized and oppressed.Truth and

• Justice: Speaking out against injustices, even when it's uncomfortable or risky.

• Compassionate Engagement: Praying for and loving enemies, seeking to understand and transform rather than simply oppose.

• Personal Integrity: Living a life that reflects the values of humility, service, and holiness.

In essence, striving to meet Jesus' standard involves a constant tension between action and contemplation, between confronting evil and nurturing good, always rooted in a love that transcends boundaries and divisions. Hence the need of the Holy Spirit to discern and guide us along the tension and the nuances.
