As our Clinical & Creative Director, Gerina-Jadé Davis, has spent many years in community and youth work, she is passionate about creating opportunities that equip young people with skills, confidence, and real-world experience.
Our internship program reflects that commitment-helping interns grow professionally while supporting the mission and work of Healing Minds & Hearts.
This Year's Partnership
This year, in partnership with community workforce initiatives such as Neighbors in Action and the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP). we had the opportunity to work with two talented youth.
We are creating an internship experience that emphasizes supervision. professional development, collaboration, and actually getting things done so that interns leave with a portfolio and the skills they can carry forward.

Makiyah Elam
Social Media & Digital Storytelling Intern
Makiyah is serving as our Marketing and Communications Intern for the 2026 Summer term. Inspired by her passion for mental health advocacy and supporting others through life’s challenges, she is dedicated to creating content that fosters hope, connection, and access to meaningful resources. Makiyah contributes to social media strategy, content creation, and community engagement to help Healing Minds and Hearts reach individuals on their healing journeys. Through this internship, she looks forward to expanding her skills in marketing, communication, and project collaboration while making a positive impact in the community through authentic and compassionate storytelling.
Ford-Kate Raynor
Marketing & Communications Intern
Ford-Kate is serving as our marketing and communications intern for the 2026 Summer term. She takes a great interest in wellness and community engagement, which drives her to refine the marketing strategy at Healing Minds and Hearts and reach a wider audience of people looking to work on their healing journeys. Through this internship, Ford-Kate looks forward to further developing her professional skills and gain hands-on experience in marketing, collaboration, and project management.
